About Us

The Institute has many well-equipped classrooms of different sizes, each of which can accommodate between three to ten students. We offer both individual and collective classes. The teachers at ELI are young, professional and friendly. They master the language that they teach, and also speak both French and English fluently.

ELI has recently introduced short modules such as “Introduction to the culture of Pondicherry and South India”, which are filled with pictures, videos, live performances, and are presented by a native animator.

ELI also offers language classes to the staff and personnel of reputed firms and organisations, including NGOs and MNCs. For such cases special modules are created to cover aspects of client reception, corresponding through email, attending phone calls as well as polite speech.

Our students
Our services cater to a wide variety of organisations and individuals. We meet the linguistic training demands of the French Consulate as well as of teachers and students of the Lycée, ex pat French residents, and visiting tourists who want to take up short modules in language-learning during their stay at Pondicherry. We also have a large number of professionals who take up classes in order to obtain international degrees in various languages.

ELI has a very diverse student-base:

  1. Adults, who want to improve their oral and written expression for traveling purposes, job requirements as well as for day-to-day activities. We also provide training for obtaining international and European certificates.
  2. Children (beginning from age 3) are engaged in our classes through many innovative activities like games, songs, and other interactive methods.
  3. Students (school, high school, university) are taught with a special emphasis on the school curriculum, focusing on oral skills and on a clearer understanding of the grammar of the language.
  4. Firms and Organisations which require training the personnel and the executives to improve spoken and interactive professional skills.
