*The IRB role
The International Rugby Board has striven for several years to promote the image of rugby all around the world. Its efforts have been rewarded, as Rugby is now playing in160 countries, and will be played for the Rio de Janeiro Olympic Games in 2016.
By applying its philosophy, IRB has specific programs, which aim to help “small teams” to practice rugby by inviting them to particular events or tournaments. For example, IRB has paid the costs of the Pondy Sharkz travel for the New Delhi tournament.
*The SIRFA role
The South India Rugby and Football Association aims to develop rugby in the south India states and in the Andaman Islands. In order to achieve this goal, the SIRFA strives to be involved with local associations, by organizing tournaments, or by training referees and coaches.
Moreover SIRFA aims to develop rugby among the kids, as they propose rugby courses in some Tamil Nadu preschools. Then SIRFA has also for mission to detect the young talented players in the local tournaments, to let them to achieve their potential.
*The human values of Rugby
As a frontal opposition team sport, rugby involves cooperation between teammates and respecting others through the referee and the opponents. The collective fight and the physical struggles require individual bravery and solidarity. You have to accept a physical choc, to help a teammate.
The tactical smartness, to choose the best individual and collective solutions, during some playing sessions. Then taking lead is primordial, to surprise the opponents. Liking hard work and playing outside whatever the weather can be, give to player higher oneself esteem. Conviviality is particularly present in rugby, after the game and it is like “a third half-time”, where everybody is relaxing and speaking to each other.
